Swansea Guildhall Phase 4 - A Refurbishment Story...
Poselco Lighting Limited has been awarded a contract to remove and re-engineer luminaires that were built over 100 years ago and are quite unique in design and style. Fashions within the many Swansea Guildhall rooms include both Art Nouveau and Art Deco are represented in luminaires that size-wise include pendants at over 3.6m in width with incumbent light sources that originally were GLS and number in some cases up to 36 lighting points. The Brangwyn Hall, famous as a venue for hosting such stars as Sir Tom Jones, Dame Shirley Bassey and Katherine Jenkins, is due to be refurbished after phase completion.
This prestigious lighting re-engineering and refurbishment project is long in process and scheduled to last until June 2013. It is complex and delicate the luminaires have barely been touched in 100 years, but it is our intention to clean, rewire and fit digital interfaces to provide modern lighting control and emphasise contemporary energy efficiency methodology. The logistics are complicated not withstanding the fact that the site is in West Wales and Poselco is in London.
This website will record the progress made and a scientific log of the events, procedures and highlights linking all aspects of a major lighting refurbishment project.
